Adding Nodes to Your Kubernetes Cluster

It’s easy to add nodes to get a Kubernetes cluster up and running with Platform9’s Freedom tier in two quick steps.

  1. Download and install the CLI on your Ubuntu 16.04 or 18.04 box.
    bash <(curl -sL
  2. Run the following command to prepare your node to be added to a cluster. Once the operation is complete, you’ll have the node available in your list of hosts in the UI.
    pf9ctl cluster prep-node

These same steps will work for VMs from AWS, Azure, or bare OS creations.

You can find more information on building clusters using the pf9ctl CLI here including adding/removing the CLI and using SSH mode to prepare nodes from a remote server.

That’s it! Have fun and let us know if y’all have any questions!
